First Aid for Babies & Children
The course aim is to give carers the confidence and competence to deal with emergency situations at work or in their own homes until the emergency services arrive.
Course Content
- What to do in an emergency.
- Priorities of treatment.
- Caring for unconscious babies and children.
- Dealing with choking.
- Control of bleeding.
- Dealing with croup.
- Dealing with meningitis.
- Managing febrile convulsions.
Length of Course
Duration of the course is 6 hours.
Accreditation Format
Assessment is continuous throughout the course and candidates are expected to actively participate in the practical procedures, which include working closely with other people and applying first aid to the baby and child training models.
Course Venues
Can be delivered on site, or off site for small groups if room is not available at the company. This can also be delivered in split sessions. Individuals booking on a course are charged at £65 per person.
